VivaTech 2023: Spotlight on the highlights of SINGA!

Copied link

From June 14th to June 17th in Paris, we participated in the 7th edition of Europe’s largest startup & tech event. Bringing together more than 150,000 visitors and 2,800 exhibitors, VivaTech was, as always, the meeting place for innovation. It was an opportunity for inspiring encounters, presenting our activities, and highlighting the projects carried by SINGA entrepreneurs!

Thousands of visits to the SINGA booth

Throughout the exhibition, the members of the SINGA Paris team took turns meeting with the public (professionals and individuals) and presenting SINGA’s activities alongside numerous accompanied entrepreneurs who also showcased their projects!

Spotlight on a few projects…

  • FA-IS’ design, a design studio founded by Fahimeh Mirshafiei, offering services and solutions inspired by Persian art for the real and virtual worlds.
  • Daftar, a web and mobile platform founded by Ayoub Berrada, aiming to provide optimal traceability of real estate work for increased transparency.
  • Innovatianna, a French and Malagasy Impact Tech startup founded by Aïcha Camille Jo and Nicolas Demoulin, specializing in data preparation and labeling for artificial intelligence.
  • Welcome place, a community neobank co-founded by Caroline Span, Rooh Savar, Hamze Ghalebi and Mansour Mahboubi, providing simple and accessible financial solutions to all newcomers in Europe.
  • Motorskins, a Berlin-based technology company founded by Juan Opitz-Silva, specializing in integrated fluid textiles for human-machine interaction.

An inspiring panel discussion blending tech and inclusion

VivaTech is about networking and conferences with experts from around the world. SINGA participated in a panel discussion focused on technology for the inclusion of refugees. Fatemeh Jailani, COO of SINGA Global, shared insights alongside Jean Guo, CEO of Konexio, and Margaret Jonhston-Clarke, International Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at L’Oréal Group, who moderated the exchange.

Together, they explored the challenges of a more inclusive welcoming policy in companies and society at large. “If companies made an effort to integrate newcomers, it would contribute to a major narrative shift in our society” Fatemeh Jailani

The  #FemaleFounderChallenge

The Female Founder Challenge, organized by VivaTech and 50inTech, rewards startups and innovative solutions created by women. Among the finalists was Caroline Span, a SINGA alumni, with her project Welcome Place, a neobank that offers simple and accessible financial solutions to newcomers in Europe.

Caroline, along with the other five finalists, had 3 minutes to present her project in English to a jury composed of Tatiana Jama (SISTAFUND), Rania Belkahia (EQT Ventures), Julien-David Nitlech (Iris Capital), Florence Sardas (Mazars), Delphine Icart (AXA), Carla Schell (Auxxo Female Catalyst Fund), and Didier Lallemand (Société Générale).

The Jury Prize was presented by Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne to Zuzanna Stamirowska for her project Pathway. Congratulations to the winner, to Caroline Span, who came very close to victory in this challenge, and to all the finalists!

Pitch contest SINGA: innovative projects led by committed entrepreneurs

An hour-long pitch session on the theme “migration lead innovation,” followed by intense 3-minute presentations before a jury. This was the challenge faced by 7 SINGA entrepreneurs on Saturday, June 17. Their objective: to win the Jury’s First Prize or the Jury’s Heart Prize, under the watchful eyes of the audience.

The following entrepreneurs were present:

  • Anne-Jennifer Chicou, founder of Ohmboa: a platform for booking activities to discover cultures and know-how from around the world
  • Ali Alshzeiki, founder of 3Digital: a Swiss cloud platform for creating 3D visualization and augmented reality of products for individuals
  • Jason Seethiah, cofounder of Bloom Alternance: a recruitment tool 100% dedicated to learning, student jobs, and internships, to help young people access employment opportunities
  • Anne-Charlotte Duperray, founder of Spiky Community: a free multilingual application that gathers all the key information and tools for settling and living in France
  • Lisa Pavlova, founder of SPICA: a collaborative platform for people who want to learn English in a fully personalized and practical way
  • Charles Bihina, founder of DiVRsitee: a virtual reality tool showing the journey of refugees, aimed at raising public awareness of migration and inclusion issues
  • Samah Ghaloussi, founder of ALIAA.TECH : a real-time translation tool, powered by AI, to facilitate conversations between patients and medical staff, focusing on the most popular languages among newcomers to France.

A big congratulations to all and to the winners, Samah Ghaloussi (who won the Jury’s First Prize for ALIAA.TECH) and Ali Alshzeiki (who received the Jury’s Heart Prize for 3Digital). The awards were presented by inspiring personalities such as Margaret Johnston-Clarke, International Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at L’Oréal Group, Pierre Méric, Analyst at Made For All, and Rose Ameziane, entrepreneur, columnist, and author.
