In Brussels, Walter was hosted for six months by Charlotte, Javier and their two children, as part of SINGA’s solidarity co-living program. This allowed him to find work as a welder, and then find his own apartment. Today, he often continues to meet with the family who welcomed him.
“Co-living was nothing but happiness. […] SINGA came into my life at a time when I really needed it, and where I am today is thanks to SINGA. Without a roof, I wouldn’t have been able to concentrate on the other things that allow you to have mental and financial stability.” Walter, member of the SINGA Brussels community
In Geneva, Hafez created his consulting business to support newly arrived people in their administrative and legal procedures, after being supported by SINGA Switzerland.
In Berlin, Nia, a member of SINGA Deutschland’s community, opened her first business in the tech sector, becoming the first woman in her family to become an entrepreneur.
Three different journeys, in three European cities. But the same reality: when people can create bonds, access opportunities and put their skills into action, it is an entire community that can benefit from this dynamic.
Since 2016, SINGA has developed its activities in Belgium, Switzerland and Germany with a shared conviction: newly arrived people are not just people to welcome. They have skills, ideas, experiences and projects that can enrich the territories where they live.
Through its entrepreneurial programs, its communities and its intercultural activities, SINGA creates spaces where local and exiled people meet, collaborate and build together.
In Brussels, this dynamic took the form of more than 3,000 intercultural activities, 1,000 solidarity pairs and 200 co-living arrangements taking place over the last ten years.
At the scale of SINGA’s network, now present in 7 countries and 16 cities, nearly 20,000 people have been supported in their professional or entrepreneurial journey, contributing to the creation of more than 1,400 businesses and associations.
Behind these figures, there are friendships that last, businesses that come to life, skills that find their place and projects that contribute to the cities’ economic, social and cultural life.
“The Buddy program is important to meet people in a new way. I appreciate that SINGA offers wonderful opportunities to people like me. With my Buddy, every moment we spent together was different but very interesting!” Nadine, member of the SINGA Brussels community
From Brussels to Berlin, from Geneva to Zurich, local contexts and realities are different. But everywhere, the same questions arise: how do we create connection in increasingly fragmented societies? How do we enable everyone to contribute to economic and social life? How do we build more dynamic and united territories?
In a European context where migration is regularly approached from the angle of tensions and difficulties, these ten years of experience invite us to also look at what actually works.
“SINGA innovates and consolidates for the inclusion of newly arrived people. SINGA is ambidextrous. And if adversity grows, our abilities and our determination grow even faster.” Benoît Hamon, Chief Executive Officer of SINGA Global
One person who creates their business. Two residents who become friends. A family who opens their door. Residents who come together around a common project.
These stories do not, by themselves, sum up the complex issues of inclusion. But they show that inclusion is not merely a matter of great principles: it is built daily, in places, relationships and initiatives that produce concrete effects.
Inclusion is not only a question of solidarity. It is also a way to strengthen bonds, reveal talents and bring territories to life.
“SINGA Brussels represents inclusion in action for me. For almost 4 years, I have been involved as a volunteer to encourage meetings between local people and newly arrived people. SINGA is an association that creates social bonds and shows that diversity is a wealth for Brussels, Belgium, Europe and the entire world.” Rodrigue, member of the SINGA Brussels community
To celebrate this decade, SINGA gives voice to the people and communities that make inclusion a daily reality.
From October 17 to November 17, 2026, four events will highlight this campaign:
Throughout these events, SINGA will share portraits, testimonies and impact data to tale ten years of engagement close to the territories.
Because behind each meeting, each project and each business, there is a unique story. And because together, these stories draw another way of looking at migration in Europe.
