This year, SINGA Toulouse set up at the University of Toulouse Jean Jaurès to organise activities. Through workshops, documentary screenings, and discussion sessions, the project helped build new connections between SINGA Toulouse and students.
This year’s activities were developed with two students from the university, Chloé and Lucía, as part of a supervised project. The goal was to offer simple, accessible events that encourage encounters between students and new arrivals.
The activities mainly took place at the student lounge Le Moulin and at the CRL (Language Resource Centre), both familiar and popular spaces for students, which helped facilitate interaction and participation.
In concrete terms, five “Blabla” sessions were organised. These moments enabled informal exchanges between participants through games and open discussions.
Two screenings of the documentary Les liens de la migration were also held. They helped raise awareness among students and staff about issues related to migration journeys and reception, while also opening up meaningful discussion periods after the screenings.
Finally, two artistic workshops led by Marie, an arts student, brought participants together for hands-on creative activities. The first, focused on abstract art, for example introduced the basics of this artistic movement.
This first experience at the university marks an important milestone for SINGA Toulouse. It made it possible to explore a new field of action with a young audience and to create different forms of interaction. By engaging directly with students in their daily environment, exchanges were more natural, more spontaneous, and more direct.
SINGA Toulouse aims to continue and strengthen this momentum next year in order to keep these spaces for encounters alive on campus.
Many thanks to the CRL, the Le Moulin student lounge, and the entire University of Toulouse–Jean Jaurès for their warm welcome !
