One city, a thousand connections : SINGA Nantes lanches its community-building activities

For the past five years, SINGA Nantes has been supporting entrepreneurs from all around the world. Today, a new chapter begins: at the end of 2024, the team launched a participatory program of shared activities to bring people together and build lasting connections between newcomers and locals in Nantes.

Resisting through connection

In a global context marked by rising tensions, setbacks in rights, and polarized discourse on migration, SINGA Nantes chooses to resist in a different way.
Through accessible and shared moments, the organization acts locally with the conviction that human connection is a powerful lever for social transformation. Each encounter becomes an act of resistance, a tangible step toward a more inclusive society.

“Through our activities, we hope to show that “living together” isn’t as complicated as it seems.”
— Maya Chase, Community Manager at SINGA Nantes

A program designed for connection

Since late 2024, SINGA Nantes has been offering a rich program: board games, creative workshops, intercultural meetups, cultural visits… Activities designed to encourage exchange between locals and newcomers, open to all, with no requirements other than the desire to share a friendly moment.

The SINGA Nantes BAZAR: a gathering that brings people together

Among the highlights of this initiative, Le BAZAR stands out as a not-to-be-missed event. Every first Thursday of the month, at La Cordée sur Erdre, locals in Nantes and newcomers meet around a variety of activities:

  • French conversation workshops,
  • discovery workshops: crochet, literary Arabic, singing…
  • board games,
  • and meet-and-greets with the entrepreneurs supported by SINGA Nantes.

Everyone is welcome to come as they are, stay as long as they like, and often leave with a new idea, a new encounter, or a smile. Le BAZAR embodies the spirit of living together: free, joyful, and inclusive.

Locally rooted action

To bring this momentum to life, SINGA Nantes relies on a strong network of local partners: community centers, cultural organizations like Tissé Métisse or Le Wattignies, welcome centers, and local associations. This network helps anchor the activities in the neighborhoods, reach diverse audiences, and nourish local dynamics of solidarity.

An eventful 2025 ahead

Thanks to support from Crédit Mutuel and the City of Nantes, over 40 events are planned in 2025. So many opportunities to open spaces for cooperation, discovery, and mutual enrichment.

How to join in?

SINGA Nantes’ community-building activities are open to all: board games, workshops, walks, discussions… Every participation is a chance to discover, connect, and build authentic relationships.
