Newcomer Comedy Club : a sold-out 5th edition at the Gaîté Lyrique

For its 5th edition, the Newcomer Comedy Club by SINGA was once again sold out, drawing nearly 150 audience members to the Gaîté Lyrique. For one evening, five artists with unique backgrounds took the stage one after another, all sharing one thing in common : they had crossed borders and chosen comedy as a way to tell their stories and share their perspectives on the world.

Five artists, five worlds

🎤 Arezki Sugar

Arezki Sugar, who arrived from Algeria at the age of 8, has been a fixture on the Parisian comedy scene for nearly ten years. His sharp wit and biting observations on French society immediately won over the audience immediatly.

🎤 Tatiana Urss

Originally from Russia, Tatiana discovered stand-up comedy in France. Her communicative energy and quick wit have made her a standout figure on the Parisian comedy club scene.

🎤Wita Bledard

Originally from Burkina Faso, Wita brings a brand of humor to the stage that is as subtle as it is effective. Repeatedly voted “King of the Big Show” by the audience at the École du One Man Show and a member of the Artistes en Exil workshop, he turns his experiences into material that makes people laugh and think.

🎤 Dena

Born in Belgium to Iranian parents, Dena is involved in a variety of projects, ranging from stand-up comedy to podcasts and content creation. Her appearance at the Newcomer Comedy Club offered an unflinching look at issues of identity.

🎤 Wahib

Drawing on his roots in Morocco, Algeria, and France, Wahib weaves a biting and intelligent brand of humor centered on multiple belongings. With finesse, he plays on contradictions and clichés to deconstruct them better.

A packed room, stories that bring people together

As the acts unfolded, bursts of laughter mingled with stories of life, memories of leaving home, questions of identity, and observations about our societies. It was an evening where humor brought people together and helped break down prejudices.

Through the Newcomer Comedy Club, SINGA continues to create opportunities for people to connect, while showcasing talented individuals with multiple paths !

An edition that goes beyond the stage

This 5th edition also gave participants the chance to check out the SINGA merchandising as they left the venue. Mugs, stickers, and other items allowed attendees to take home a souvenir of the evening while supporting the association’s actions.

Thank you to the performers, volunteers, partners, and the nearly 150 audience members in attendance for making this 5th edition another success. See you in September for the next edition of the Newcomer Comedy Club by SINGA!
