SINGA Switzerland is launching a microcredit program to support entrepreneurs with a migrant background

In response to the difficulties many newcomers entrepreneurs in Switzerland face in financing access, SINGA Switzerland is launching a microcredit dispositive designed to support the development of entrepreneurial projects led by alumni of its programs.

In Switzerland, many entrepreneurs with experiences of asylum or migration still face major obstacles when it comes to accessing financing.

Administrative status, lack of a banking history, lack of securities or difficulties accessing traditional financial networks : these are all barriers that complicate the development of businesses that are nonetheless viable and impactful.

Yet, a few thousand francs can sometimes be enough to debunk a decisive step : purchasing equipment, launching a production, funding initial marketing efforts, or structuring an already existing business.

To address this specific need, SINGA Switzerland is launching a new microcredit program for entrepreneurs who have participated in its support programs.

A funding designed for newcomers entrepreneurs

This program is dedicated to alumni of SINGA’s Incubator, Bridge, and Accelerator programs who have participated in one of these tracks over the past three years.

The goal : to support entrepreneurs who have already launched their businesses and are seeking a funding between CHF 5,000 and CHF 10,000 to accelerate their growth.

Through this initiative, SINGA Switzerland pursues a clear mission :

  • to strengthen entrepreneurs’ economic independence ;
  • to promote social and professional inclusion ;
  • to offer an alternative to traditional financing often inaccessible.

Supported projects may span a variety of sectors, as long as they meet the program’s eligibility criteria.

A support that goes beyond financing

The microcredit offered by SINGA Switzerland goes beyond mere financial support.

Selected entrepreneurs will also receive personalized support to strengthen the sustainability of their businesses and their integration into the Swiss entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Applications will be evaluated by an investment committee composed of experts from the entrepreneurial and financial sector.

The program provides for :

  • a repayment over a period of 1 to 3 years ;
  • a one-time flat interest rate of 5%, applied only once when the loan is granted to cover administrative costs ;
  • monthly payments spread evenly over the entire repayment period.

For example, for a loan of CHF 10,000, the total amount to be repaid will be CHF 10,500.

Who is eligible to apply ?

The program is open to entrepreneurs who meet notably the following criteria :

  • participated in a SINGA program within the last three years ;
  • have a business registered as a limited liability company (or SARL) or a sole proprietorship ;
  • hold a Swiss residence permit of type F, B, C, or S ;
  • be proficient in English at a minimum B2 level ;
  • submit a complete application package including a business plan and financial projections.

Swiss, European, or British citizens may also apply if their business actively supports people with a refugee background.

An application period open until October 15

Applications for the 2025 edition will be open from September 15 to October 15, 2025.

Interested entrepreneurs will have to submit their application via the platform www.previsionnel.ch, selecting SINGA at the time of submission.

The application must include, in particular :

  • a business plan ;
  • a business model canvas ;
  • financial projections ;
  • an extract from the commercial register or a certificate of business activity ;
  • a certificate of no legal proceedings ;
  • a copy of the residence permit.

Results will be announced on November 26, 2025, with the program set to begin in early December.

Building a more accessible entrepreneurial ecosystem

Through this project, SINGA Switzerland aims to contribute making the Swiss entrepreneurial ecosystem more accessible to people who have experienced exile or migration.

Because behind the administrative and financial challenges lie already skills, projects, and talents that are ready to flourish.

The challenge now is to create the conditions that allow them to access to the same opportunities as other entrepreneurs.
