On November 13 and 14, 150 participants from 22 companies and committed organizations came together to tackle a major challenge: leveraging generative artificial intelligence to design concrete solutions for social inclusion. Organized by Simplon Foundation in partnership with Big Bloom and OpenAI, this event brought together social innovation stakeholders, AI experts, and associations working with people with disabilities (EPNAK, Clubhouse France) or migrants (SINGA, J’accueille powered by SINGA, Utopia 56). Here’s a look back at an intense event filled with learning and collective co-creation.

Transforming AI into a Tool for Inclusion : The Challenge Taken on by SINGA and its Partners

How can artificial intelligence become a driver of social inclusion and equal opportunities for displaced people? In a time when a lack of social connection threatens community cohesion, can artificial intelligence offer groundbreaking solutions? These pivotal questions were at the heart of SINGA’s participation in the OpenAI Hackathon, organized to mark OpenAI’s launch in France by Simplon Foundation and Big Bloom, with support from RAISE Sherpas.

The event brought together 150 committed participants to co-create solutions aimed at combating stereotypes and bolstering local inclusion initiatives through collaborative workshops and concrete prototypes. SINGA reaffirmed its commitment to people experiencing exile by exploring innovative pathways to :

  • Create balanced and fair narratives about migration to combat misinformation.
  • Facilitate access to rights and justice, often challenging for exiled individuals.
  • Enhance the impact of local initiatives, using artificial intelligence to uncover opportunities for displaced people within communities.

Through workshops and pitches, ideas were transformed into tangible prototypes :

→ Facilitating learning for young people with hearing impairments through tailored educational tools.

→ Promoting self-determination for individuals living with mental health challenges.

→ Automating administrative tasks to ease the workload of associations.

→ Detecting fake news related to immigration and generating real-time, accurate, engaging, and human-centered content on migration.

→ Simplifying access to justice and legal processes for foreigners.

→ Optimizing fundraising strategies for organizations like Utopia 56.

→ Enhancing the impact of platforms such as J’accueille by SINGA.

At SINGA, Inclusion and Innovation Go Hand in Hand

The two days of the OpenAI Hackathon were an inspiring demonstration of the potential of artificial intelligence to serve human and social causes.

For SINGA, these two days were more than just a technological exercise—they embodied our belief that all forms of intelligence matter, whether human, intercultural, or artificial. This commitment reflects our determination to build a more open and inclusive future, where innovation and diversity strengthen each other.

As Guillaume Capelle, co-founder of SINGA, emphasized: “With AI, there’s a risk of creating artificial inclusion and overlooking intercultural intelligences. But seeing OpenAI organize such a day with us, right as they arrive in France, gives me hope : hope to create tools capable of shaping the world we dream of, an open world.”

At SINGA, we are proud to have contributed to this momentum and remain committed to making innovation a powerful tool for social transformation.
