On November 28, SINGA Berlin brought together a diverse group of social entrepreneurs, public sector representatives, and civil society organizations for the 6th edition of the Berlin Newcomer Startup Award 2024. Supported by the Senate Department for Economy, Energy, and Public Enterprises, this annual event showcased six emerging entrepreneurs from the SINGA community. After six months of challenging conventional ideas and refining their projects, the entrepreneurs presented their initiatives to a jury of experts and an enthusiastic audience. Here’s a recap of this inspiring evening, where promising projects and inclusion took center stage.

Where Innovation Meets Inclusion

On November 28th, SINGA Berlin hosted the 2024 edition of the Berlin Newcomer Startup Award, an annual event that celebrates innovative initiatives led by entrepreneurs from around the world. The winners receive not only financial support but also mentorship, networking opportunities, and resources to develop their projects.

This event highlights SINGA Berlin’s commitment to building bridges between cultures and disciplines, offering international entrepreneurs a platform to shine while promoting the values of inclusion and diversity beyond entrepreneurship.

2024 Winners : Recognizing Ideas, Supporting Projects

During the evening, six startups presented their initiatives to a jury and the audience, offering a glimpse of the innovative solutions brought forward by entrepreneurs from around the world. Here are the award-winning projects :

  • 🥇 1st Jury Prize : TreeScatter
    Led by Tea Bano, TreeScatter uses artificial intelligence and remote sensing to conduct rapid forest inventories, providing essential solutions for sustainable forest management.
  • 🥈 2nd Jury Prize : Relatable
    Created by Tapas Dwivedi, Relatable helps couples resolve conflicts in 30 minutes and improves communication during tense moments through AI-guided conversations.
  • 🏆 Social Responsibility Award : Monarch AI
    This parental control app, designed by Bella Davis-Riemer, proactively detects harmful behaviors such as cyberbullying and predatory actions.
  • 🌟 Audience Choice Award : MyHejo
    Developed by Raymond Miranda, MyHejo combines storytelling and coaching to help users transform fears into growth opportunities. With a personalized approach and community support, it aims to build resilience and self-confidence.

A Clear Message : Inclusion as a Driver of Innovation

The Berlin Newcomer Startup Award goes beyond recognizing innovative ideas. It demonstrates that inclusion is a powerful catalyst for creating sustainable and impactful solutions—for preserving forests, combating harassment, or resolving conflicts in relationships.

Through this initiative, SINGA Berlin reaffirmed its commitment to fostering an inclusive space that transcends borders and origins. A place where ideas come to life, enriching exchanges fuel meaningful collaborations, and bridges are built to connect diverse communities.
