On October 15, SINGA Bordeaux took over the reception rooms of Bordeaux City Hall for the first time to mark a defining moment in its history: the symbolic handover between two generations of entrepreneurs with migration backgrounds, and the welcome of 15 new talents who will, in turn, contribute to the economic, cultural, and social vitality of the metropolitan area.
In this emblematic venue, the true institutional heart of the city, SINGA Bordeaux reaffirmed a deeply held belief: “Nothing changes until someone moves.” By bringing together local residents and newly arrived individuals around a shared movement of people, ideas, and cultures, the association underscored a clear message: inclusion is a cornerstone of local development.
Hosting this ceremony at City Hall marks a significant milestone for SINGA Bordeaux, which has been active in the region since 2022. This symbolic gesture reflects growing recognition of its work in promoting socio-economic inclusion and social innovation.
Being welcomed at the heart of the municipal institution strengthens the bridges between SINGA and the City of Bordeaux, and firmly anchors the incubator within a shared ambition: to build a more open, creative, and inclusive city.
The evening was marked by a symbolic handover between the outgoing cohort and the new entrepreneurs, representing the journey made since the incubator’s creation.
Since its launch, SINGA Bordeaux has supported over 50 talents from diverse backgrounds.
The graduating entrepreneurs presented projects ranging from inclusive technology to gastronomy, craftsmanship, photography, and cosmetics, illustrating the richness that intercultural perspectives bring to local innovation.
Designed and prepared by the SINGA community, the event highlighted the collective strength that drives the association: entrepreneurs, volunteers, and institutional, cultural, and economic partners.
The space was conceived to be accessible, lively, and welcoming, featuring:
Artistic and community coordination was led by Dina Khuseyn, choreographer, educator, and artistic director of Danses du Futur, who orchestrated the evening with the sensitivity and energy characteristic of the SINGA movement.
The new cohort brings together 15 entrepreneurs from Ukraine, Syria, Peru, Argentina, Russia, Ethiopia, Benin, and many other horizons.
Their projects span a wide range of sectors: culture, gastronomy, family support services, craftsmanship, sports, administrative consulting, ecology, and publishing.
Together, they embody a plural and forward-looking Bordeaux, driven by innovation and connection. Their presence within the local economic ecosystem highlights the essential contribution of talents from elsewhere to the territory’s vitality.
The evening brought together key partners including Bpifrance, the City of Bordeaux, DDETS, SINGA Global, Université Bordeaux Montaigne, as well as numerous associative, cultural, and economic stakeholders.
All emphasized the importance of recognizing and supporting entrepreneurs with migration backgrounds, a strategic challenge for the future of the region.
The evening unfolded through several highlights:
Each moment embodied the SINGA spirit: creativity, diversity, and collaboration.
The closing words of the evening resonated as a promise:
“Tonight, we are not closing a chapter, we are passing it on.”
Through this symbolic transmission, SINGA Bordeaux reaffirmed its mission: to give everyone the opportunity to take their place in society, and to help an entire territory move forward through the momentum of those who choose to join the movement.
